Remove domain mapping to set up the new wordpress.org site at the new domain?
-
I am moving my blog “vertecology” from wordpress.com to wordpress.org so that I can customize, add ecommerce, etc. I’ve got the hosting set up, etc, got the site temporarily set up at vertecology.info, and changed the nameservers for vertecology.info at my registrar already (using Gandi.net). I disabled the domain mapping 12+ hours ago, but when I go to vertecology.com, all I see is the message from WP.com saying that the domain mapping is no longer working. I need to access the cpanel at the new host so I can move the files over, and cannot access it. Please help, thanks!
Thanks!

Correction… the nameservers have been updated for vertecology.com… not .info – I’m not sure why I’m even seeing anything from wordpress.com at all at vertecology.com.

Okay, I think I solved the issue. Using anonymouse.org I was able to get behind the wall and see the message “vertecology.com” is being redirected. Then I was redirected to the fully functioining .info site. I guess they really mean it when they say DNS can take 24-72 hours to re-point…. not good for my viewers, but that’s what facebook posting is for.
Please update here if there’s anything else I should know. Thanks!
