Remove Duplicate Subscribe Button

Hello.
I want to give people the option to subscribe to new posts I make via a newsletter. However regardless of what I do to edit my website, the SUBSCRIBE and LOG OUT buttons not only keep reappearing but they clone themselves as well. It makes my website look unprofessional.
If someone could either fix this for me or give me direct steps on how to fix this myself I would be grateful.

Do you mean you want to remove the Subscribe and Log in buttons from the header and footer sections of the site?
If that is what you want to achieve, you need to edit the header template part and the footer template part. Please study this tutorial to customize your header & footer: https://wordpress.com/support/site-editor/customize-your-header/ and https://wordpress.com/support/edit-the-footer/

Sadly, it doesn’t. I know how to access the page already but even opening that page I immediately see the buttons there, and they’re duplicated. I have deleted them numerous times but they always come back. I wanted to know how to get rid of them for good.

Hmm.. Did you happen to leave the Newsletter Settings Navigation for Subscriber and Login block toggle ON?
You can find them under Settings > Newsletter.
