Remove explanation wording from the home page
-
Hi,
I’m using the Dara theme and on the home page under each page it has explanation wording I can’t figure out how to erase. Such as under the about tab it explains what that page is used for.
Thank you,

Hi @tashyaknight,
To remove the excerpts under your feature pages, please follow these directions:
1. Dashboard
2. Pages
3. Click on Page that is featured on homepage that you would like to edit
4. More Options (Sidebar)
5. Empty “Excerpts”https://en.support.wordpress.com/excerpts/
If that does not work, or if it is empty then add the “more tag” to the beginning of your content and that should remove the content underneath the feature image.

Cheers!

I’m sorry but this doesn’t seem to work. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but the wording is there by default on the template itself and I can’t seem to remove it.

Hi @tashyaknight,
When I tried removing the excerpt it didn’t work for me either, but when I entered the “more tag” in the beginning of my content it seemed to remove it. Did you happen to give that one a try?
-
Okay I figured it out. Thank you so much! Although now it has an excerpt of my own writing which I don’t want there either. Is there any way for it to just be blank under the image?

I have no idea! All of this confuses me hence all the questions so how that excerpt came there is anyone’s guess at this point!
-
Okay, well looking at your page, it looks like the contact page has nothing underneath – that’s one! :)
For the remaining pages, look at the excerpts and empty them out. You can find your page excerpts through the steps here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/excerpts/
Then in your content add the “more tag”. You can follow instructions to add a “more tag” here.
Best to do one page at a time and then see if that works :)

When entering the “more tag” enter it at the very beginning of your content. If you enter it within your content, everything before it will show under your featured images along with a “Continue Reading”.

Thank you so much for your patience! I finally understood what you were asking me to do with the more tag and now it’s all fixed. Thank you so much! :)
-
Yay!! Glad to hear it works and no problem – I’m just glad I was able to help out :)
Cheers!
