Remove Featured Image from Post

  I have a Portfolio and I am using [portfolio] inside a page. The portfolio appears great with little pictures which are my featured images. When I click the individual portfolio picture, it brings up the whole post and the header is the giant featured image. Is there a way to hide that featured image or ONLY display it on the main page? I’m using the Sela theme, but I don’t think that matters a whole lot. The giant header picture is just distracting. If I remove the featured image, though, then no picture shows up on the main page inside the portfolio (obviously). Any suggestions or work-arounds? Thanks!
