Remove filename preview from gallery images?
-
Help! Hello – I need to remove the filename preview (when cursor placed over an image) on all my gallery images, and can’t find out to do that without removing, renaming and reloading all the files. Surely the filename preview can just be disabled? Here is an example of one of my galleries: https://georgiahopkins.wordpress.com/landscapes/
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Looking into your link, we understand you have used the Square and Rectangular Gallery styles, the hover is showing the Caption of each image, you can remove that by removing the caption for each image, you will have to Edit Each Image and remove the caption, here are details of your the Gallery Style
Gallery StyleHere is the screen for each image, so on the right-hand side you see the Caption Option, that has to be kept blank

Hi there Pavanraheja, thanks for the reply. However, it’s not the caption but the filename that’s showing when cursor rolls over each image, e.g. “DSCN1188.jpg” instead of “Blue Shore”. I’d rather just prevent the filename from showing. It also shows in full view, with details of the camera which took the image, etc., etc., which I don’t want visible either… Hopefully there’s some setting to remove this info from display? It shows up especially on mobile view, but also on desktop. Thanks.

Hi again,
Thank you for the details, so here is a quote from the Image PageNote: The way the caption displays, as well as whether or not the image has a border, is a function of the theme you are using. If you have the Custom Design upgrade, you can change the appearance of images using CSS.From the link Image Settings https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings/
You will have to be subscribed to premium Plans https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
Plans https://wordpress.com/pricing/
But unfortunately, that is the solution only, or you can try using alternate carousels and galleries , which may have a more suitable display for you.
Hope this helps, let us know if you need any further information..!
