remove free domain

  I was playing around with domain names. I am going to end up purchasing my domain elsewhere and mapping to WordPress. How do I get rid of the first one that I do not want at all?

  Hi @ksanchezpca, mapping and a paid plan let you add a custom domain to your site, and make that domain primary.

  If you ever get rid of the upgrade, the site will still exist at the free address. And, as long as you have the paid plan and mapping in place, any attempts to visit the free address will be automatically redirected to the upgraded name.

  Does that make sense? Essentially you won’t be getting rid of the free address, just using your preferred domain with it.
