Remove gravatar from my emails permanently
-
I want to removed the picture associated with my email address. I set up an account for a client, first using my own email then switching over to their email. I added a gravatar for their account; however, the client logo is now showing up next to my email address every time I send an email. I need to have this removed as soon as possible as this is my work email address. I deleted my email address from the account; however, my emails are still showing up with their gravatar despite never adding the logo to my own email address. Please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Could you please provide the email address which want to make sure doesn’t have any gravatar associated with it? I’ll be happy to take a look! You can feel safe leaving the email address here, it will appear as [redacted] to the public but I will be able to see it.

Your help would be much appreciated! The email from which I need the image removed is (email visible only to moderators and staff). I removed the email address from the account, so it shouldn’t have an image associated with it; however, when I sent an email from that account to my personal gmail account, I noticed the image showed up next to my email.

OK, I just checked, and that email address is not currently associated with any gravatar account at all. So that is definitely not where the image is coming from.
There are two options which could explain it.
One is that since you previously used the image to email to Google, Google has cached the image in its system and so that’s what it’s going to keep using until a new image takes its place. If that’s the case, you can re-add (email visible only to moderators and staff) in gravatar, upload a new image (something basic and non-specific), send yourself an email or two, and then you can remove it again. I’m not sure this is the case however because of the second option below.
Or two, at some point in time you may have set up a Google Plus profile for that email address. Usually images don’t show in gmail unless the sender has set up the email in Google Plus (but I don’t know every single thing about Google so I wouldn’t want to make a “they never show up” type statement!). So if it’s possible you set your photo through google, you should just need to log in and delete and/or change that photo for (email visible only to moderators and staff) and you’ll be good to go!

Thanks for offering to help. Unfortunately, re-assigning a new gravatar image and emailing my gmail accounts has not worked. I definitely have not set up a Google Plus account for that email address, so option two is out. Any other ideas?

I’ve been discussing this with my coworkers and we’re really not sure what else this could be unless the logo is saved in your email client or address book on a local level. We have verified that your email address was removed when you first wrote in and then showed just a photograph of you (presumably). As far as our systems are concerned, any logo has been entirely removed.
