Remove header

  I have created my own header which includes the title of my blog, but all the themes I have tried also has a header, and then the title shows twice. How can I delete the original header in the theme? I want a theme that is free and with bright colours. Best regards Elisabeth :)

  We Volunteers cannot view private blogs so we do not know what theme you are using, and cannot examine what you have done and assist you. Only Staff can view private blogs and I tagged this thread for them to assist you.

  Note that on some theme we can disable the site title text display very easily here > dashboard > Appearance > Header

  Scroll down to:
  Header Text
  __ Show header text with your image.
  Disable that setting and “save changes”

  Hi Elisabeth!

  timethief’s directions are completely correct. Although, you’re better off using the Customizer > Site Title and unchecking the box for “Display Header Text” since we’ve been having some issues with Appearance > Headers.

  @timethief – just a note for you and other volunteers, Appearance > Headers currently leads to broken images. Its a better work flow to direct users to the Customizer for Header-related edits for the time being. :)
