Remove Header Image on Posts and Pages
-
How can I get rid of the header image on all of my posts and pages except the HOME Page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
If you have a Premium or Business plan, it can be hidden by adding the CSS below to the customizer in My Sites > Customize > CSS:
body:not(.home) .header-image { display: none; }Adding custom CSS is only possible on a Premium or Business plan.

Hi there,
The image in the header is featured image. You can disable the image by following steps below:
– Go to My Sites > Themes > Customize > Content Options
– Under Featured Images, uncheck the checkboxes ‘Display on blog and archives’, ‘Display on single posts’ and ‘Display on pages’
– Click Save & PublishThis will remove featured images from your posts and pages.
Refer the document linked below:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/content-options/#featured-imagesIf your theme ‘Misty Lake’ doesn’t have Content Options tab then I would suggest you to switch to the theme that has Content Options tab and is similar to Misty Lake.
Other option is you can purchase either of Premium or Business upgrade plan and add CSS code given by @garysixtyeight
Hope this helps!

@marshmellowretirement – afaik, there is no way to remove the header image from everywhere except the home page without using CSS, which would require a plan upgrade.
Hi @krutidugade – it’s not a featured image, it’s a header image. The theme being used on the site, Misty Lake, doesn’t support the Content Options either.

Yes, I was unsure which is why I suggested to switch the theme. I don’t know why I am unable to find the theme Misty lake. Which is why I couldn’t check personally if it showed up. Thanks :) -

Misty Lake is an old retired theme. It won’t appear when searching for it in the blue (Calypso) dashboard because WP.com don’t want people with new sites to use it.
If you have a test/sandbox site at WP.com, you can still find and activate retired themes in /wp-admin/ > appearance > themes. It’s a useful way of seeing which features old themes support.

Good advice on switching themes, I’d second that :)

Well, this is strange, because another site that I know of uses Misty Lake and the header is only on the home page, and he doesn’t have a business or a premium theme. Oh well.
Guess, we’ll explore switching themes. Thanks.

https://mercuryerrands.com does not use a header image.
The image at the top of the home page is a featured image in a sticky post.
If you look at your site, the header image spans the whole width at the top. On mercuryerrands.com, the featured image only fills the content column.
If you’d like your site to look like that, please add a featured image to a sticky post.

Duh! But of course. Sometimes you’re too close to something to see the obvious. Thank you. That worked.
