Remove Homepage Title White Space: Varia and Child themes

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’m using Rockfield and parent theme Varia. Sine I am self-hosting, I don’t have the “Hide homepage title” option in customizer. I’m using

    .home .entry-header {
    display: none;
    }

    This eliminates the title text but leaves the space. How do I remove the actual title area to accomplish what “Hide homepage title” would have done?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Try this:

    • Navigate to Pages -> All Pages or Posts -> All Posts from your WordPress dashboard.
    • Hover over a particular post or page, then select Quick Edit.
    • Delete the title text, and click Update.

    Thanks… I’d like to retain the page title and remove the display text and space through CSS. Given that Varia and its child themes are so popular and that this is an issue for anyone who self-hosts, I’m hoping to get some insights as to how others have dealt with this issue.

    If you’re self-hosting, you should be seeking support from a different forum.

    Thanks! The theme is a wordpress.com theme- others have posted adjacent issues with self-hosted Varia child-themes here, so I’m hoping to get some insight from the community.
