Remove horizontal line above site title

    Yesterday, a horizontal line somehow appeared above my site title in desktop and tablet (landscape only) view. It isn’t showing on tablet portrait or mobile, but I’d still like it to be removed totally. I’ve searched for solutions in the forums, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions or css coding that will remove it is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jenna,

    Strange as it may sound that line is actually coming from the footer styles, it’s a border that is meant to sit at the top of the footer, separating the main content and the footer.

    I’m not sure how to explain why this happening without getting too technical but as all the elements seem to be positioned correctly everywhere on your site I think the safest fix is to simply change the color of the border in question to white. This is the CSS to do it: 

    .site-footer {
	border-top: solid 1px #ffffff;
}

    Let us know how you get on with that.

    Oddly enough, I recalled that the last revision I made was to the footer, so I thought maybe it had something to do with that, but I just couldn’t figure out how. In any case, thanks so much for your help!

    It is possible that your last revision had something to do with it but it’s by no means certain. CSS can be fickle. Have you ever heard this CSS joke?

    “Two CSS properties walk into a bar.

    A barstool in a completely different bar falls over.”

    I think it perfectly captures how you can adjust CSS for something and then suddenly something else, seemingly unrelated, stops working properly. It’s stuff like this that keeps me awake at night. :’)
