Hi!
We’re in the process of converting some WordPress.com URLs to HTTPS. It isn’t possible to remove it from your URL. Are you experiencing issues with the HTTPS version?
-
Hi Jeremy, I have https right now but that creates a problem with ping backs and trackbacks since two weeks on the weekly photo challenge and ping backs to my own blog. Http does not create such a problem. When will https work with automatic ping backs again?
-
Thanks for brining that to our attention Chris. We are aware of the issue, and we’re working on a solution. I’ll be keeping this thread updated as we get the issue solved!

Hi,
I’m a Japanese user of wordpress.com and we, many Japan users, have a serious problem after you changed “auto-redirecting” to https. In Japan there’re some popular blog-ranking sites.
(for example; http://www.blogmura.com/, http://blog.with2.net/, http://blogranking.fc2.com/)
Many users visit these sites to know which sites are updated and popular. But they cannot handle https sites. So after “auto-https”, all of wordpress.com users’ sites are outside of ranking, and pingback function doesn’t work. Some sites says they have to change their
codes to handle https well, but it takes some months. Why you changed? and we strongly hope we can choose http or https at dashboard.
Thanks in advance,
Akiou from Japan.
akiou.wordpress.com (written in Japanese)# Japanese forums doesn’t works (no staff answers) so I’m here.
If possible, plz tell your Japanese staff to reply questions in ja.forum, or should be closed. -
I think ‘Nihon blog mura’ can handle ‘https’. All we have to do is to change our own blog URL from ‘http’ to ‘https’ in ‘manage your blog (内容登録、変更)’ in ‘my page’. It solved my problem.

Hi uguisumochi,
Yes but it is just a half of the solution. It makes ping-back worked, but doesn’t solve no-count problem.
I believe the only and certain way to solve all problems is to stop forced “auto-https”. We need the option to select. Plz consider it again. Thanks in advance. -
@grayak29 – Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Regarding the forums, it looks like there has been some recent moderator activity there. I apologize for any delay in answering your question.
As for an option to switch from https to http, we don’t have plans of incorporating that option as of right now. This would be something the sites you mention would need to fix on their side.
