remove https lock
-
So, I’m trying to transfer my website to godaddy and purchased their domain transfer plan. Now it says “The administrative email address is incorrect, restart transfer after updating” I called go daddy customer care and say that your current hosting has to remove the lock and the https:// from your domain address. How do I do this? Is there a setting in my dash board?

Do not expect instant answers. Please be patient while waiting for Staff to respond to your email.

4 hours is instant? I though it was good enough to give a holler again. Ok, I’ll wat a little more :)

It’s not unusual to wait for 24 hours or even longer.

Hi there,
Which domain are you trying to transfer? There are two in your account.
You need to disable the transfer lock yourself by going to My Site ->Domains and selecting the Transfer Domain option. When you click the Accept Settings button on that page it will unlock the domain, disable private registration if applicable, and email you the domain transfer code.
Transfer a Domain to Another Registrarhttps has nothing to do with this, as that is connected to your site hosting, not your domain registration. There is no way that your domain loading over https can prevent a domain transfer from taking place.

Thanks for that, I checked that link that you gave and proceed to do as written there now. I got this messafe “We have sent the authorization code to domain registrant’s email ID. It’s been more than half an hour, haven’t got any email yet. Checked my spam folder too.

I see you’re using a Gmail address. Our emails are often filtered to the Social or Updates tabs in Gmail’s inbox, so please check there as well.
I’ve also resent the transfer code.
If you still can’t find it, please let me know.

Oh Yes I found it. It I hit the resend code button and that’s when I got the transfer codes. Weird. Anyway, I’ve entered those at godaddy and now it says the transfer is under process and it may take upto seven days. I guess it’s all set now. :)

It should complete automatically from here, yes, but let me know if you need any more help with this.
