Remove Hyphenation in 2012
-
Hi,
I’ve searched many forums but have been unable to work out how to remove the hyphenation on pages and posts in the 2012 theme.
I’m still a beginner so please be gentle haha ;-)
Many thanks,
Sarah

Hey again, Sarah!
The Twenty-Twelve theme is set to automatically have words auto-hyphenate on browsers which support it. This is a built-in feature to this theme, I’m afraid.
We can turn hyphenation off with the aid of the Custom Design upgrade. It would only take adding the following CSS to your Appearance > Custom Design > CSS panel:
.site-content article, .widget-area .widget { word-wrap: normal; -webkit-hyphens: none; -moz-hyphens: none; hyphens: none; }Here’s some info about the Custom Design upgrade, which costs $30 per year, per blog: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
Hope this helps with your hyphenation dilemma :)
Cheers!

Ok then, I’m gonna give it a go. Wish me luck hahaha.
I see I can have a fancy font with the upgrade too. Double win!

PS. Its says $30 on the link you provided, but when you add it to the cart the amount charged is $35. Do you know why this is?
-
And if you fancy another challenge do you know why the following is happening?
My header (and category) titled “from the home” disappears completely along with the associated blog posts, when I change the name of it to “toxic free living”
:-(
PS. hyphenation successfully removed and font changed to a nice fancy one! Thank you :-)

Oh, it’s a currency matter :) It costs 30 US Dollars which is the same as 35 Australian Dollars.

Let’s try it like this: First, change the name of the category from Posts > Categories. Once you’ve done that, from Appearance > Menus, can you try removing the existing menu entry, and adding it once again? Let me know if this does the trick!

Oh, nice fonts indeed, Sarah! Custom Design is such fun :D
And I’m glad we solved the hyphenation dilemma! Mission accomplished!

Ha haaaaa! You’re a superstar! Thank you so much :-)
I’m going to give the blog a rest for now so hopefully you’ll have some peace and quiet. Tomorrow I’m creating a new custom header and I know how to upload that :-)
Once again many thanks!

Aww! Thank you, Sarah. It’s a pleasure to help you :)
You know how it goes, right? For any questions, I’m always just a message away!
Have a great Tuesday!

Yes all good thank you very much. I’m just trying to work out how to use Photoshop to create a better custom banner.
Also I was trying to see what other things I could do with the blog to improve the look and feel so if you have any ideas don’t be shy :-)
This is fun hey!

Oh, Photoshop! Here’s a site that helped me get going when I tried playing with it: http://psd.tutsplus.com/
