Remove just the 'Category archive' bit from Triton lite
-
Hi CSS gurus,
I wondered- is it possible to remove the category archive bit from my website? I’d ideally like to keep the category title ie.’ Features’ on this page http://loosegroupartists.com/category/features/ but the archive bit looks a bit messy. Could I possibly left-align the Features bit too?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Try this:
.category .archive-title { font-size: 0; } .category .archive-title em { font-size: 20px; } -
Worked a treat to get rid of the category archive bit! Is there a way to show the category descriptions too (or is it not available in Triton lite?)

If you mean make them show automatically, no: very few themes display category descriptions, and TL isn’t one of them. The only thing you can do, if your categories aren’t too many, is use CSS editing to insert each description manually. Are you interested in this?

Hi Justpi, that sounds fine- if it’s possible then I am happy with some CSS- there aren’t too many cats: Features, Technical, reviews, comment, how we do, loosegroup shows. Is that something that can be done?

You need to add a separate piece of CSS for each category page, for example (features category):
.category-9548 .archive-title:after { content: "ENTER DESCRIPTION HERE"; }(Do you know how to find the category ID numbers?)
Plus a piece of CSS to take care of the styling of all these additions – something like this:
`.category .archive-title:after {
display: block;
font-size: 16px;
}`
(You might need additional properties and values, for instance to change the color or increase the available space.) -

Justpi- I can’t thank you enough- it looks great!
One other minor thing- is is possible to take off the italics in the category name? I tried text transform: none and it didn’t work. No problem if not (I am just being fussy). Thanks so much for all of your help!

You’re welcome!
The text-transform property controls capitalization. You need this instead:
font-style: normal;To familiarize yourself with the various CSS properties, you can start studying webpages such as these:
http://reference.sitepoint.com/css/propertyref
http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/default.asp -
Thanks so much (again) and for the pages- I will have a good read as it’s so handy to know. My site looks great now. All the best.
