I don’t want people to be able to post comments ( I have contact form) How can I remove the “Leave Reply” text and box on pages.
I have trawled the forums and found this advice –
    1. Can you disable comments on the whole blog?
Yes, the default pages for all comment settings is here > Settings > Discussion I DID THIS BUT TEXT AND BOX STILL ON PAGE
(Also note comments can be set to over-ride the default settings on individual posts and pages.)
    2. Can you remove the wording “Leave a Reply” which is coded into the template underlying the theme?
No. But you can hide it with CSS editing. CAN I DO THIS SIMPLY? HOW?
    3. All I had to do to remove the “Leave a Reply” box was to go to the Pages section on the left, select the page that contains the reply box, select “Quick Edit”, and uncheck the “Allow Comments” box.I TRIED THIS BUT THERE IS NO “ALLOW COMMENTS” BOX ON EDIT OR QUICK EDIT

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion

Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden. You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules
