Remove like button without removing sharing buttons

  I just removed the like box and all social media sharing buttons from my homepage because the gravatar images next to the like box were taking up over half of the site’s loading time. (Thank you Timethief for sharing the Pingdom speed test.)

  I’m sure I’m not the only blogger with that problem.

  I wish there had been an option to delete the like box without also deleting the other buttons. An option to not display gravatar images next to the like box would also do the trick. (I know it’s possible to eliminate like boxes from the entire blog, but I only wanted them gone from my homepage.)

  I can’t find the Like button on your home page.

  The only way to remove like button is from Dashboard > Settings > Sharing > set WordPress.com Likes are to Turned on per post and then from Edit Post screen uncheck Show Likes on the Likes and Shares panel at the bottom of the page.

  Disabling Like button will also remove the Gravatars of people who liked the post.
