-
Hi,
I have a mapped domain that I added when I signed up. I want to remove it and add a different one. How do I do that?

Hi there,
Can you please confirm that the domain you want removed is thefirstkirk.com? Then I can take care of it for you.

Thanks for confirming. I’ve removed it and restored the free domain in your plan, so you can use it to add a different domain.

Hi,
I have a mapped domain added when I signed up (emilianofusaglia.net) . I would like to change it to REGISTERED DOMAINIs it possible?
Thanks

Your domain mapping upgrade was added in March already, so while I can remove it from your account I’m not able to refund it any more at this point.
I’d recommend leaving both domains on your site for now. That way people who have the .net domain bookmarked will still be able to reach your site and old links will still work. Then you can remove the old domain once the domain mapping expires.
If you go to My Site ->Domains you’ll see a button at the top to change the primary domain. There you can control if visitors to your site see the .com or the .net domain in their browsers.

Hi Kokkieh
I’m not looking for any refund.
My problem is related to the fact that the domain “emilianofusaglia.net” yesterday expired, and the mapping on WordPress is no longer working.
I would like decommission emilianofusaglia.net and buy it as REGISTERED DOMAIN directly with WordPress.Regards

and buy it as REGISTERED DOMAIN directly with WordPress.
Right, that’s an important detail. Expired domains don’t become available immediately. Your current domain registrar will most likely hold onto that domain for another 90 days, or possibly even longer, before they will release it so you can register it somewhere else.
During this period they will also put the domain up for sale on private auction. Should someone buy the domain at auction it won’t be released and you won’t be able to register it again at all. This is standard practice with most domain registrars.
The moment the domain expired you stopped being the owner, so currently you have no rights to that domain and the registrar can do whatever they want with it. If you still want to use that domain I strongly recommend you renew it instead with the current registrar and continue mapping it here.
I’m happy to remove the mapping upgrade for you, but you need to be aware of the implications of letting a domain expire. Let me know how you’d like to proceed.

Ok understood, so please proceed removing emilianofusaglia.net.
At least in this way I’ll definitely close the problem of having multiple providers, I’ll keep WordPress ONLY! -
I’ve removed the .net domain from your account, so you now only have the .com one. You are welcome to try registering the domain with us again, but I’d give it at least two months before trying – it is highly unlikely that the domain will become available before then.
