Remove Mapping
-
Good day,
I have recently swapped to a self hosted wordpress site. I had previously purchased my domain from go daddy and paid for mapping. I have removed the wordpress servers on my go daddy settings but I am unable to see my new site. Do i need to remove the mapping in order for this to be corrected. please advise as I am unable to even edit my new self hosted site anymore. -
What is the domain URL please?
Exactly which username account purchased the upgrade?
Exactly which underlying .wordpress.COM blog was the upgrade purchased for?
If you purchased a domain name via wordpress.com Staff need to know whether or not you want to keep the domain name and use it on another site.
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew. Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades
Note that when we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you.
From the support docs: How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. Hi @timethief the domain was purchased from godaddy and it is sincerelymesha.com i then mapped it. hymesha is my username. I am not worried about a refund at this moment all i want is my site to be fixed. I have tried to remove the mapping but it seems like my domain is still being mapped. This is what is happening (which i have posted in a thread but no answer)
PLEASE HELP I HAVE EXPLAINED IN GREAT DETAIL.
I know there are loads of other posts on domain mapping and what not but I am not actually sure if it is to do with my domain mapping so I will explain the issue.
I have a domain purchased with godaddy (www.sincerelymesha.com) I signed up for domain mapping and changed the servers and whatever else was required. I have now decided to do a self hosted wordpress site. I have did my hosting and things with wordpress and while I was tweaking my site they gave me a tempororay url (http://113.6f9.myftpupload.com/) Last night I cancelled (i think i did) my domain mapping, removed the servers (think that was right). the correct site loads under the correct url (sincerelymesha.com) but it keeps logging me out and tries to log me into my wordpress.com site it seems. for example. I try to set my publicize settings via jetpack and it takes me to the social site to confirm when it tries to communicate it back to wordpress it goes from sincereleymesha.com to the temp url http://113.6f9.myftpupload.com/ and then prompts me to login but nothing works. Please please please may someone help me with this.
That is what i posted as that is the issue. should i put modlook in the tag?

Hi staff-doublebassd do you think that the mapping is what kept logging me out and the other queries above.
-
I’m pretty sure it was the issue now that I can access your self-hosted site when visiting sincerelymesha.com. Are you still having issues viewing the site?
Let me know, thanks!

Hi there,
Just let me know what the issue is in this thread and I’ll definitely try to respond to you ASAP. Thanks!

Hi there,
It is because I removed the mapping from your account like you requested. You won’t need it if you are hosting your domain somewhere else. Were you wanting to map the domain to site at WordPress.com?
Let me know, thanks!
