Remove old site

    How do I remove and old site that I created under a student email address that is no longer valid? I created a wordpress site for a project when I was in college and now I have to remove my name and picture from the site for security purposes. Please help!

    Hello there,

    You can delete your site by yourself, just follow this link https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/. Please keep in mind that if you delete your site you no longer access it. Or if you can’t delete site by yourself then staff will do it for you. I have tagged this thread modlook, so that staff will look into it and further help you.

    Thank you for the article and that is helpful if only I could log into the site. I cannot log into the old site because the email I used as a login is no longer valid. That’s my issue I need to workaround.

    Hi there, staff cannot delete sites. @kokkieh recently said the following:

    We cannot delete your own site even if you had asked us to. Only the owner or an admin on a site can delete it.

    Please be aware that the following is based on the assumption that your site is hosted by WordPress.com. Generally, we’d ask for your URL to verify this but I completely understand that might not be ideal when you have personal information on your website.

    Probably the most effective way to remove that information is to regain access to your account and manually delete it yourself. You can follow the Account Recovery process to do so: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

    That might be an issue without having access to your email to retrieve the verification ID. Perhaps you have a transaction ID if you purchased an upgrade (if so, do not post it here, include it on the form at the bottom of the Account Recovery Page)?

    Ya I understand, no worries I already modlook this thread for staff attention. Any staff member will get in touch with you in a few hours and help you in deleting your account.

    Hi @tcady12, @torres126 is correct; we’ll need you to verify ownership somehow. If you didn’t have any recovery options set up, another option is to try to get access to your old email address, if possible, or just guess the old password if you can.
