Remove old sub domains (blogs)

Are there any plans to roll out any sort of sub domain / blog cleanup on wordpress.com. I had a horrible time finding a user name / blog title for my blog. The two already taken domain names I actually checked on had the “this is your…” blog post still up and were from 2005 and 2007.
I’m not one to judge when your inactivity becomes ground to closing your blog and re-releasing the name to the public. But it seems like it would be better for the community to turn some of the more popular / desired names over to people who want to consistently update them. After inactivity and a proper notification process, two years seems reasonable.
Yup… After a day mine is not updated yet either!

Nope!
They will never ever clean them up so that no one ever in the future will be able to take someone elses domain name.
Stupid, yes but it’s there word over ours.

Also note that there is a thread wherein wp.com users are prepared to transfer blogs they no longer use to those who want them. I’m sorry I can’t locate the link right now. :(
