Remove or resize header?

    Hi, sory im not speak english, i want to remove or resize (less higher) the black header in the top of my blog ( http://www.diariosucesos.com ).

    If resize is an option, i want to get limited to text line and not more.

    You can use the following to change the height of the black area. I’ve also included a background declaration so that you can change the color of the black area if you desire. 

    #masthead {
min-height: 60px;
background: #ae0a0a !important;
}

    Hi, I have a couple of questions on the Traveler theme. The header takes up so much space and I would like to make it 50% of what it already is.

    Secondly: I took the front page off of static so I could put my posts on there. What happened though the information on my home page no longer shows. I am wondering how do I add in information on that page and not just posts.

    The way to get back to the front page is by pressing the word all. I am wondering if I can change the word to Home and I do not know how.

    I really am a beginner but would like to make these changes. Thank you in advance.
