Remove original admin

Our original admin has unfortunately passed away and I have replaced him as admin. How do I remove his profile as administrator? The site tells me I cannot adjust his profile.

Hi there,
The owner of a WordPress.com site cannot be removed. The account that owns the site would need to transfer ownership of the site to another account first.
In this case an authorised representative of the deceased’s estate will have to follow our process to claim ownership of the account, then that person will be able to transfer ownership of the site to you:

Hi kokkieh – that’s not going to happen. His executor is ill and emotionally frail, and I’m certainly not going to bother her with taking the legal route you propose, which is out of all proportion to this simple task.
The consequence will be that he remains as ‘site owner’ despite being dead, and I’m sure that this will become an increasing issue for you as the majority of your ‘site owners’ expire.
You need to find another route around this.

I understand that this is not the moment for that right now, however, this is what we need in order to allow another person to access an account they do not own.
