Remove 'Phantom' category
-
My Perpetual Radar site has a ‘category’ which doesn’t belong but I can’t remove it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey perpetualradar,
From your WordPress dashboard, just go to Settings>>Writing>>Categories and you will see all the categories you have created.
Click on three dots showing at the right side for that particular category name and select “delete”.
Hope this helps.

Thank you, but no. This is a phantom category…ie. I didn’t create it, it’s not a real category but the text is there and I cannot remove it
-
I am tagging this as “modlook” for the staff assistance. Maybe it requires checking your account to clear the confusion.
Please wait for a while, a staff member will get back to you.

Hi perpetualradar,
it’s not a real category but the text is there and I cannot remove it
What is the name of the category you wish to remove?
Just let me know and I will take a look.

Hi Gemma. It isn’t a category I created but it’s in the category section, is the default and the three toggles do NOT have the delete option. The Text is ‘And Business Leaders Think’ . I have a screen shot if that helps.

Hi perpetualradar,
I have a screen shot if that helps.
A screenshot would be great if you wouldn’t mind uploading it to your Media Library.
Thanks :)

Thanks, I see you what you mean now. This is your default post category — the category posts will be assigned to if you don’t specify one.
You can delete any of the categories you have created manually, but not the default category. Although it can be renamed by clicking on the three dots to the right of “And Business Leaders Think”.
I hope that clears things up but let me know if you have any questions.
