remove post author
-
We are working on the free wordpress service — http://global-ejournal.org/ — and I am struggling to figure out how to remove the post author that is automatically generated by the theme.
The home page is a page — so there’s no //post// author listed. So click on any one of the article titles or… Just click here:
And you’ll see a “By marklilleleht” (that’s me) who posted the posting and then the //true// author and affiliation (which is part of the body of the post itself.
I want to remove that “By marklilleleht”.
I have tried various custom css codings inspired by the following pages:

https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/css-upgrade-now-what-how-to-edit-post-format-tags-other-info?replies=3#post-203647
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/help-custom-css?replies=7#post-172592All to no effect. The reason that we need to remove the post author is because we are an online refereed journal, and the person who posts the essay isn’t, in fact, the author of the post.
Any help?
Many thanks in advance!

I think you’re stuck. As far as I’m aware, every theme on WP.com lists the author of the post somewhere.

Do you have the paid CSS upgrade? I would think you could remove it that way. Or at the very least set the colour of the font to white so it’s effectively invisible. But if you’ve no CSS experience, don’t buy it without trying first. Use the free preview feature to make sure you can get the effect you want.

No, we don’t have the css upgrade — and the problem with the free preview is that I haven’t been able to figure out what the code is that I would need to mask or otherwise manipulate. I can figure out the setting, I just can’t seem to puzzle through what it is I need to mask.
(If that makes sense.)
