Remove Post Image from home page header
-
How can I remove a post’s Featured Image from appearing in the header of my Pictorico Home Page? It bumps the grid down too far on the page.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, this could be done with Custom CSS, which is a feature of the WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans.
My suggestion would be to go to Appearance > Customize > Featured Content and replace the featured content tag you now have with something that you do not have as a tag, perhaps something like testtag01 and then save. That will remove the featured content from the top of your main site page.
Let me know what you think on this.

Hey, that worked! But why? What does changing the tag have to do with a post’s image showing up on the home page? Will this be a permanent fix?
Thanks! -
You had set a featured content tag of “Packaging for Electronics. That means that any post with that tag will be added to the featured content slider at the top, and if the post has a featured image, it will show up at the top of the site.
In theory, you should be able to remove that tag from Appearance > Customize > Featured Content and the posts should no longer show up as featured content. There seems to be bug though and deleting the tag doesn’t clear it, so you have to add a tag that is not used on your site to get the posts to go away. That will be fixed, but I don’t know exactly when, so we can use this workaround temporarily to remove them.

No posts will show up in the Featured Content Slider unless you somehow assign that tag you entered to a post. That is why I suggested something that would not be typically used as a tag on a post.
