remove!!! rel="noopener" WTF
-
why would someone at WordPress think its even mildly, remotely, a good idea to force no opener on all links? I get controlling content so it doesn’t override the theme but if this is locked then goodbye wordpress.com forever.
Does anyone have a hack to root around this nonsense coding?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
rel="noopener"is a security enhancement in WordPress core itself that prevents possible hijacking of new tabs when you set your link to open in a new tab or window. The WordPressdotcom platform is based on the core WordPress software. Can you help us understand why you’d want to bypass this on your site? I don’t believe it is possible, but regardless this thread has been tagged for Staff attention.

Hello again, here’s a previous Staff reply which explains this: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/what-does-relnoopener-noreferrer-mean/#post-2952830
Also note the “noreferrer” attribute in the link mentioned in that thread was removed in WordPress core v4.7.4.

Thanks for digging up that old thread for reference, @justjennifer. I don’t really have anything else to add in addition to what you and @kokkieh have mentioned. Modlook tag has been removed.
