Remove Request Access login from a wordpress hosted site.

I want to make my blog public so someone can view the content just by visiting the link without having to enter a username/password through a request access page.

The blog is JacobMcOwanWrites.com, but on my wordpress blogs dashboard, it still shows the site as JacobMcOwanWrites.wordpress.com. When I type in that address, it just redirects to the simplified url.

But, when I type in the address on my phone it asks for an access password.

Originally, I made the blog private while I was working on it, but now I want to make it public. In the Reading section settings, I have the box checked that allows it to be indexed by search engines.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hey there Jacob!

The blog is JacobMcOwanWrites.com, but on my wordpress blogs dashboard, it still shows the site as JacobMcOwanWrites.wordpress.com. When I type in that address, it just redirects to the simplified url.

This is actually working as it should. The actual site is JacobMcOwanWrites.wordpress.com, but its public name is JacobMcOwanWrites.com. This may help explain the situation:

    http://catswithmustaches.org

But, when I type in the address on my phone it asks for an access password.

It sounds as if your site’s old settings may be cached by your phone. I’m making a guess (as you’re working on a Mac), that you have an iPhone. Here are the instructions on how to clear Safari’s cache on the iPhone:
    http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/Manage-Browsing-History-Cache-Cookies-Passwords-In-Safari-For-iPhone-iOS-7.htm

If you have another phone type or are using another browser, you may need to google how to clear the cache for that device/app.

Give that a try, then take another look at your site on your phone and let me know how that goes!

Thanks so much. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.
