Remove site after a Word Press class is completed
-
I completed an online Word Press class that required me to set up a temporary website, which was never published. I have recently been getting emails from JetPack saying my site is down and that it will continue to monitor it. (So far it’s 50+ emails saying it’s down and 50+ emails saying it’s back up again.) I’m assuming this is related to my site no longer being hosted by Site Ground. I don’t believe the Word Press site for my class even exists anymore, so how can I inform JetPack that I’m no longer using their product?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It appears that your site is/was a self-hosted site using a host other than wordpress.com.
You will find more specific help on the forum specific to self-hosted WordPress installations.
That said, you could try removing the site from Jetpack to stop the downtime notifications by following these instructions:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/Hope that helps! If not, please check into the wordpress.org specific forum for more in-depth help. Have a great day!

Hi there,
Can you please confirm if this is for the site, rochelleu.sg-host.com?
@cookgardensew, please don’t refer users with Jetpack questions to the general WordPress.org support forums, as those forums will not be able to help them.Jetpack is a WordPress.com product, and for issues related to use of the My Sites dashboard, Reader, stats, followers, and Publicize, this is the right place for them to ask for help, and staff in this forum are also able to help with some other issues, like Monitor emails.
If you do need to refer someone somewhere else, please refer them to Jetpack support, not the self-hosted forums, but if in doubt rather tag the thread for staff than sending someone where they won’t be able to receive the help they need.

Thanks for the info, @kokkieh. I guess my thought was that a part of the issue was inability to access a self-hosted site, so I leaned in the directed of the .org forum, but I see my mistake. My apologies and thank you for correcting my mistake.
Quick question for clarity on my end – by ‘jetpack support’ do you mean this forum? Are there any scenarios that would dictate using that forum over this one for jetpack specific questions?
Thanks for stepping in and setting things straight (again). :)

I mean paid Jetpack support at https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support, or the free Jetpack plugin forums at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
There are many Jetpack issues that have nothing to do with WordPress.com. For those it’s best to contact Jetpack support directly.
But many Jetpack features use the exact same My Sites interface as WordPress.com sites, and for many of those features we can help people here without having to send them somewhere else.

@kokkieh – thanks for adding that. Perhaps it could be added to the Volunteers’ support guide for added clarity under the “self-hosted sites” section? https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/

Hello @Kokkieh,
Yes, this question is in regards to rochelleu.sg-host.com. I can log into my WordPress.com account, but this site is no longer listed as a choice, since my class is completed. So I can’t even see the Jetpack plugin to disable it. This is what I received from Jetpack:
“Hi rochelleleann,
https://rochelleu.sg-host.com did not load when we checked on Saturday, June 16, 12:29 am.
Your site is responding intermittently, or extremely slowly. This can indicate an overloaded, under-powered, or misconfigured server. Your site is probably loading for some users, but not for everyone.
If you continue seeing downtime, you should get in touch with your hosting provider for help. You will receive another alert when your site is online again.
View your site’s activity to investigate when and perhaps why it went down.
Read more about Monitor.”
Then later I’ll get a message saying it the site is back up again. What’s my next step?

Hi @rochelleleann, thanks for clarifying. I have disconnected Jetpack on https://rochelleu.sg-host.com/ for you.
