Hi @hawelker,
Have you tried contacting the web designer to change their role or provide you with access? Here are some steps you can take:
Check Site Ownership:
- The owner of a WordPress.com site is tied to the account that purchased the domain or plan. If you’re the owner, you have ultimate control and can manage admin roles.
- Go to Users > All Users, find the designer’s profile, and attempt to change or remove their role.
Regain Account Access:
- If the designer also has access to the WordPress.com account tied to the site, you should immediately update your WordPress.com login credentials (email and password) and enable two-factor authentication.
Otherwise, I would recommend waiting for a Staff member to help, you may need to provide certain informations to confirm your the primary account holder.
Best of luck!

I hope you’re doing well. Looking briefly at the site, I can tell it’s hosted through Bluehost rather than our managed hosting environment here at WordPress.com. You’ll want to consult their support team for more help. They can be found here: https://www.bluehost.com/help. Scroll down to the blue panel, and there’s a contact button to open a live chat with their team.
If you’d like to use WordPress.com in the future, we can help you with that migration process and provide more resources. Our hosting plans can be seen at https://wordpress.com/pricing/. Please write back if you have any questions.

In WordPress, you can assign different user roles to control what people can and cannot do on the site. This guide defines each role and what each role can access. List of User Roles Here’s a quick summary of each role, with detailed descriptions further down this page: Administrator: The highest level of permission. Admins have the power to access almost everything. Editor: Has acc
