Hi,
See the topic How to delete testimonials from the blog? The only way I’ve been able to remove the testimonial section from the static front page is to unpublish any testimonials. That is, to either change their status to draft, or pending review, or send them to trash. As I mention in a post in that topic, the message which appears in place of the testimonials (to a site administrator) in the absence of testimonials suggests that one may disable the display of the testimonials section on the front page at the Customizer. Yet no such option is found at the Customizer.
I’ve just marked the other topic for staff attention. You may subscribe to that topic to be notified of new posts.

See the response by kokkieh at How to delete testimonials from the blog? I’d missed it previously. The optional setting is a checkbox at Customize > Theme Options > Front Page > Show Testimonials Section on the Front Page. Uncheck the box, then click Save & Publish, to disable the feature.
