Remove the "Leave a comment" box at the bottom of my pages

  Hi,
  I’d like to remove the “Leave a comment box” which appears below all my pages. I’m creating a website, not a blog. I’ve tried unchecking “Comments” for all my created pages but it doesn’t work. I realise this is a default feature for blogs but I can’t see where to disable it. Can anyone help?

  All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. Your visitors click the post tiles or the comment links or comment bubbles on the front page of the blog and they are directed to the full post appearing on it’s own page where the comment boxes appear at the end of the posts.

  You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

  You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

  Important Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden.
