remove top header in cutline and still have blog name?
-
Hi, I’m using cutline and have uploaded a custom header. The header includes the title of the blog, PDXKnitterati. I removed the blog title on my general settings page so the title wouldn’t show up twice, but now when I look at my blog through a feed reader, the name is “Untitled.” Is it possible to title my blog in “settings,” but not have it show on the page?

You could try putting the title back in on the settings page, and using CSS to prevent it from showing on the website. The following CSS should get you the same effect you have right now:
#masthead h1 a {
display: none;

I’m a complete CSS newbie. In fact, I’m a blog newbie! Can I play with the CSS on a WP.com hosted blog? And if yes, can you tell me where that piece of code goes?
Thanks again!

Yes, you can. You can try it out for free, but need to buy the Custom CSS upgrade to get it to apply to your site. You modify it at Design > Edit CSS.

It looks like it does work. Now I have to decide if it’s worth $15 to not have redundant titles! Thank you for your help.
