Remove website field from comments Mistylook

    Is it possible to remove the website or email field entirely from comments in the Mistylook theme? That is, not moderate the comments, just disallow adding an URL link in a comment. Thanks.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    It would take the CSS upgrade and some CSS editing experience, and even then, if someone from wordpress.COM comments on your blog, and they are logged into their account, their username will still link to their own blog.

    As far as moderation goes, all those settings are under settings > discussion.

    Thanks.

    So, no, then, I take it. And, no, I wasn’t interested in the moderation option.

    There are several hacks out there for free-standing WP software that allow removing the URL box from comments, but apparently on WP.com and in Mistylook at least the option is hardwired to enable the URL box.

    Does anyone know if Sadish ever tweaks his themes within WP.com, or are themes locked for good when WP.com accepts them?

    No, all “tweaking” of the themes here is done by wordpress staff. They go through constant revisions to allow for new features and changes here, so what is here now is quite different from the original that was adopted way back when.

    I also looked in Mistylook, and with CSS I can hide the URL field, but cannot hide the “Website” label.

    It is possible to hide the input and the label for the URL entry on the comment form. The code below will do it, you can preview the CSS before you decide to buy it too.

    input#url, input#url + label {display:none;}
