Remove white space at bottom of Dara homepage content

    I’m using the Dara theme and have a large amount of white space between the bottom of the content of the home page and the lower sections (testimonials, social links, footer menu). I’ve tried css code posted on other responses but nothing eliminates it. I added a line saying, “What my customers say:” to the bottom of the content page just so people would know to scroll down, but I want the space gone!

    Hi there,

    The Dara theme is an older theme we offer, and was released before we had a block-style editor. Because of this Dara has a custom (fixed) homepage template with sections that are set up using the theme settings. You can see here that if you want to have the same homepage layout as the demo there are specific instructions to set that up here: https://wordpress.com/theme/dara

    To explain why you have such a large blank space in that area, that would normally be taken up by one of the ‘homepage settings” for your theme. Since you are skipping that and using blocks instead, the section is blank (but the spacing is still there) and cannot be easily removed since the spacing is added in several places in the theme code.

    You can try the following CSS, which should do the trick:

    /*Remove homepage spacing between content area and testimonials*/

.front-page-content-area .entry-content {
    margin-bottom: 0;
}

.front-page-content-area .entry-footer {
    display: none;
}

#primary.front-page-content-area, .featured-page-area {
	padding-bottom: 0;
}

.featured-page-area {
    border-bottom: none;
}

.front-testimonials {
    padding-top: 0;
}

.grid-row .jetpack-testimonial {
    margin-top: 0 !important;
}

    Thank you – that CSS worked! I did find out I had access to the live chat support after I posted here, and … they were stumped by the white space, and said they’d work on it and get back to me by email. I’ll let them know you solved it :)
