Remove/Hide Response/Comment Box from Media Page

    I have been trying to find a way to remove the response box from a media page. This is what I mean by media page:

    I have a main page (parent page) then a child page. On the child page, I used the media button to add photos. Once you click on an individual photo, you are taken to another page where the photo is enlarged (this is what I am calling media page). Below the enlarged photo (on the media page), there is a response/comment box. I would like this box to be removed/hidden. Is this possible?

    I clicked “edit this entry” but it only allows me to edit title, caption, and description of the media.

    I have unchecked “allow comments” on both the parent and child pages. I have also unchecked the “Allow people to post comments on the article” under dashboard > discussion. Does this mean it is impossible to have this box removed?

    I am using the ocean mist theme.

    Please provide a link to your wordpress.com blog when asking questions in the forums or link your user name to your blog as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forums.

    Without a link to your blog, I can only guess that you are talking about the attachment pages which show up when using the gallery feature. If that is the case, you do not have access to those pages. What you can do, though, is have the picture open in a new window instead of on a page and then no comments show. Do a search on attachment page for details.

    I did a search for attachment pages and found some useful information but still didn’t find what I was looking for. When looking at my blog again, I realized the new attachment pages (the ones created after I unchecked “Allow Comments”) didn’t have a comment box where as the older attachment pages (the ones created before I unchecked “Allow Comments”) did. I found that if I deleted and re-added the old pictures then the attachment pages would show with no comment box.

    Heather – The pages (products, customers, etc) at the wordpress.com blog linked to your name are commercial.
