removing a blog

My business is no longer in operation. We no longer need the blog. How do I permanently remove our blog/web site from wordpress.com?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can delete the blog by following these instructions. Do note that no blog URLs can be recycled and reused once deleted.

You might want to hold onto your mapped domain name for a while just to keep someone from grabbing the name and getting traffic off your good will – there have been cases of people grabbing expiring names to drive traffic to sites that are not too honest,
If I were you – I would put a static page up as the only page – with a “we have closed and are no longer in business – we would like to thank all of our customers and friends over the years for visiting our store” – – or words to that effect.
Then after some time you could set the blog itself to “Private” if you wanted to keep the base name for some reason when you finally decide to let the mapped domain name expire.

I had just finished posting a static page as auxclass suggested. The directions offered by timethief are easy to follow. Thanks also for the suggestion to set the blog to “Private” before dropping it forever.
