removing a duplicate site

  • Unknown's avatar

    I have a website/blog up and running with a url ending “.co.uk”
But I seem to have also created something that has exactly the same URL but ending “.co.uk/wp”
I think this may have something to do with the second site may be having been set up through wp.com?

My problem is I can’t work out how to magic it away . . .
I’ve found a WP support page for deleting a site at http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
but the “Delete Site” button that it refers to does not appear to exist . . .

Can anyone shine a light on this for me?
    Thanks

  • Is it a self-hosted blog? In that case you’ll have to post to the wordpress.org forum http://wordpress.org/support/ as this forum is only for wordpress.com blogs.

Either way, no one on either forum will be able to help you without the full URL of the blog in question.

    Hi Kokkieh
    Thanks for your help.
The site I’m using is http://thebrokersmen.co.uk/ – which is hosted on Stablehost.

The other site http://thebrokersmen.co.uk/wp/ – and I can’t work out where it is hosted.

    Any advice gratefully received . . .
    Thanks,
    Simon

  • Both sites are using the wordpress.org software (if you hover the mouse over the link where it says “Powered by WordPress” at the bottom you’ll see they both link to WP.org), so you’ll have to head to that forum for assistance (link in my previous post). We won’t be able to help you from this side.

If you don’t already have a username on the WP.org forum, click the register button in the upper right corner and create one so you can post in that forum.

    Great! Thanks Kokkieh.
Yes, I see the “WordPress.org” at the bottom now – that’s a good start, at least I’ll look like I know what I’m talking about when I go to the .org forum – and thanks for the link, most helpfull
    Cheerio,
    Simon

  • You’re very welcome. Hope you get it sorted out.
