Removing a file from Google.
-
I’m helping a friend try to remove a file from Google. Before she asked for help, she changed her WordPress site from CDG2017.Wordpress.com to 2017CDG.wordpress.com in hopes that would cause a 404 error. When that didn’t happen, she removed all the files affected. The majority of files affected now have the 404 error, which is what she wants. However, one file remains:

As you can see, this file is fully accessible except https://cdg2017.wordpress.com no longer exists. We cannot force Google to remove it through the Google Search Console as she changed the domain and the fact there is .files. within the URL of the file itself.
How can we fix this problem and remove the file from Google? From our perspective, the file no longer exists within the website!

1. I cannot remove the file via Google Search Console.
2. Can WordPress.com remove the file as the site no longer exists and therefore the file should no longer exist.
@Wordpress any help? -
Hi there,
the file does show 404 error. I’ve removed it from the cache, just in case, so you should not be able to access that file with this address anymore.
