Removing a menu item that is broken

    I have a menu entry that I cannot delete. I have tried several time to do so by deleting the menu and creating a new one with no success. I think I created an orphan. When I click on the menu item I want to delete it tries to find the page and pops up a window saying that the page is not available. How can I get rid of that broken link in the menu?
