Removing a post from the main page

  Hi

  I wondered if there is a way to remove a post from the main page but still have it accessible through the category page and the archive page?

  I have several long articles and may want to lose some from the main page but keep them available for readers.

  No there is not. All posts will show on the main page until they are bumped off by other newer posts.

  With long posts through what you can do is shorten them using the read more tag.

  Thank you thesacred path: now I know it isn’t just my novice approach!

  Great advice about the read more tag – I will give that a go and I expect it will make the blog alot more readable.
