-
On my site William Baker Tyzack’s lot, on the left is an announcement of a functions and their date – I want to remove it but I cannot find a pathway to delete it. Help me please.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Are you referring to the Cocktail Party and BBQ? If so, that is a Milestone Widget.
Click on My Sites>Customize>Widgets>Locate Milestone Widget and click on remove.
From your WP Admin dashboard:
https://tyzack150thanniversary.wordpress.com/wp-adminClick on Appearance>Widgets>Locate Milestone Widget and click on remove.
Hope that helps.

Thanks so much. For some reason I cannot access those sites from this blog – I can from other blogs so I was at a loss. So I am immensely grateful for your links – and of course it all worked perfectly. That milestone has now been deleted. Cheers

You’re very welcome. Glad that worked for you. I’m not quite sure what you mean about being unable to access the sites from your blog. If you’re able to explain it a little further, I might be able to help.

Thanks for your offer of continuing help. On my blogsite William Baker Tyzack’s lot, the Dashboard has the normal list of options down the left side of the screen – but stops short after the word Settings and so WP Admin is not showing and there is no way I can get to it. Once I have that option I know I can do anything (I have other blogs with it). I have looked into every crevice to try and find a way to get it there but cannot find a way. Very strange.

You’re welcome.
Since I’m not sure what the blog address/URL is that you’re referring to…
When you are on your site (William Baker Tyzack’s lot) and hover over My Sites, does it show you the WP Admin option?
It shows for me on my page just under View Site. Also, when I click on My Sites and scroll down the sidebar on the left side, WP Admin is the very last option showing. Does it show there for you? Or is this where you’re saying it cuts off after the word Settings? If you put your mouse in that area (on left sidebar), then scroll, what happens?
Easy shortcut way of getting to your WP Admin dashboard…
When you are on your site, if you add /wp-admin to the very end of the address/URL, that will take you to the older version of the dashboard.Let me know how all that goes. ;)

Mariah you have been marvellous. The hover option gave me nothing new, and the side bar was where the list stopped at Settings. But adding wp-admin to the address works. Thanks so much. I have no idea why I dont get the option as normal like in my other sites (which operate from other email addresses) but now you have given me a way to get to wp-admin I am so grateful. Many many thanks, Helen

You’re most welcome. I’m happy you’re happy! ;) Super curious as to why it isn’t displaying the same, but at least you have a way to work around it.
