Hi, there: I posted a free link on this page some time ago. It has been deleted in January, 2022, but I still see in my stats that readers are downloading it. Where are they getting it from and how can I delete this access? Thank you.WP.com: Yes

Hi @patriciarodimtl,
The link that you shared directs to your dashboard. Can you please share the proper URL for that page that you linked to earlier?

Not sure what happened there, but here is the new link. Thanks! -
That’s a post on your site titled “FREE for Limited Time: Chapter 1 of WHAT COMES AFTER CANCER” and it’s still online and publicly accessible.
Folks may be finding it via search engines.
If you’d like to get rid of it, please follow these steps to delete it: https://wordpress.com/support/posts/#delete-a-post

I apologize if my question was unclear, but I do not want to delete the post (that’s easy enough). I only want to remove any possibility of downloading the link within that post. If they are googling it, how would I remove that (but it appears in my WordPress stats, so not sure Google is where they are getting it)…

The only links I see in that post are for a product on Amazon.
If a link to downloadable media used to be in there, and that media were hosted on the site, it might still be indexed in Google.
To prevent people from accessing it, make sure that it’s deleted: https://wordpress.com/support/media/#delete-files-from-media

It just deleted the PDF links from the library (good to know for next time). We’ll see if this happens again. Thank you very much.
