Removing “add reply” from page

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using the Ambiru theme and have added pages with results in a table. There is a box down the bottom to “add reply” then submit comment. I don’t want comments left on this page as it is purely a record page for me. Can I remove the comment box and if so how?

Sorry I am still finding my way around wordpress :-)

On the Write Page page, to the right, there should be a “Discussion” box. Click on the ‘+’ to expand it and uncheck the ‘Allow Comments’ checkbox and voila!

Thanks for the reply devblog. So just before I do it, this won’t get rid of the comments that people leave in main blog because I want feedback there.

I added ?widget on top with “running log” next to the “about” page. Thats the section where I don’t want comments. Sorry I am a bit a of a thicko and just want to check before I do in fact do it.

Yup, just uncheck the “Allow Comments” checkbox on the page you’re writing, and no comments will be allowed on such page.

Comments on regular blog posts shouldn’t be affected.

Sorry to be a pain but when I uncheck the allow comments box, how do you save it? When I go back into page to check it, it has changed back to a tick in box and on the actual blog page, the add reply box is still there.

Also what does “allow pings” mean?

I think by default, the allow comments checkbox is checked. Every time you write a page you need to uncheck it if you don’t want comments there.

If you have more questions, I’ll try to answer them tomorrow, it’s time for me to go to bed.
