Removing an administrator

The school I work in uses WordPress to blog about what is going on in each class. The previous IT coordinator has left school, I (as the new IT coordinator) was added to the sites as an administrator but now I cant remove her as an administrator and she is still receiving all of the update emails and notifications when someone starts following a blog, which I now need to be receiving. When I have tried to remove her as a user it just says ‘error @rhiasmith cannot be deleted’. Please help. Beth Palfreyman

In order to remove the previous site owner/admin, they need to actually transfer ownership of the site to you. They can do so following these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/ Once the transfer is complete, you will be able to remove them.
If they cannot do that, then please have them log in to the account that registered the site on WordPressdotcom and post in this forum thread that they wish to transfer ownership of the site to your account.
