removing author

  I have spent so much time trying to find a theme that allows for simple writing without sidebars and does not show the author. I stayed with my original choice of Manifest and just purchased the upgrade in order to manually remove the author. According to my online finds, this was the only way to do that. However, now I cannot figure out or find directions on how to do this. I’m extremely frustrated and just want to begin blogging!
