Removing automatic hyphenation from my Forefront theme
-
How do I remove automatic hyphenation from my forefront theme? And is it possible to just do it on my blog posts and not the entire content of the site?
I’ve looked at other answers to this question for other themes, and tried putting in the CSS code they recommended, but it didn’t work.
Thanks again!

Hi there,
Can you please explain a bit more what you mean by automatic hyphenation? Can you link me to a post or page on your site where I can see an example?

Hi Eurello. Thanks for responding. Basically all of the text on all pages is automatically hyphenating words, and sometimes it’s not good hyphenation because just two letters are on one line before the hyphen and it makes it hard to read. The home page in the 3 text boxes below the main banner do it. This grid page does it a lot: http://lbarnettcreative.com/work/
I just want to turn off all auto hyphenation and not have any words hyphenate. Is that possible? Thanks.

Hi Larry,
Ok, I see it now. It only happens in Safari. I’ve opened a bug report for this, and I’ll keep you updated on the progress. Thanks for the report!

Howdy Larry!
This is a bug with the way Safari handles word-wrapping/word-breaking, and not something we can fix in the theme directly without affecting other users.
However, adding the following to your Custom CSS panel *should* turn off word-breaking for the summaries on your site:
.entry-summary { word-wrap: normal; -webkit-hyphens: manual; hyphens: manual; }I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Caroline
