Removing black navigation bar in twenty eleven

  Hi, I’m trying to figure out how to remove the black navigation bar in twenty eleven. I’ve gotten this far to make it white.

  #access {
  width:980px;
  background:none!important;
  padding:0 10px;
  }

  But I don’t know how to make the words show up. The words are there but can’t be seen unless you hover on them.

  color: #EEEEEE;
  }

  You are welcome. The #eeeeee color was what was used originally. I hadn’t changed it.
