Removing blog title – does it affect SEO?
-
Hello,
This might be a silly question… I’m thinking of designing a header image that will include my blog’s name, so I want to remove the blog title text. Will this affect SEO optimisation? I’m thinking the blog title might be a header of some sort, and might have some code behind it to help search engines locate it. Will I mess this up by removing the text?
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you remove the Site title from this page > Settings > General then that’s where search spiders expect to find it. If it’s not there you may have trouble getting your content indexed. The solution is to use or move to using a theme that has this option to suppress header text display:
Appearance > Header
Header Text
__ Show header text with your image.
“save changes” -
Yes, the Page Title is important.
There are many themes that let you display a graphic header and not display the header text. The Page Title is retained. Chateau is one of those themes. Look under Appearance>Header>Header Text>Show header text with your image
Uncheck the box and save your changes.

P.S. Chateau has the option I refer to above. Enter the Site title on > Settings > General page, upload your header image, and use the option to suppress header text display.

Ok, so in Chateau I’m not really removing the title, I’m just hiding it by unchecking the box, right? I think I’ve got it :) Thanks all!
