removing comment feature? – Black Letterhead theme by Ulysses Ronquillo
-
I have not purchased CSS yet and wonder if it is possible to completely remove the comment feature on the Black Letterhead theme by Ulysses Ronquillo. If this is not possible I will not purchase CSS.
Thanks for any help.

Just turn comments off. Go to options discussion and deselect “Allow people to comment on this article” and then click “update options”. It will not be retroactive, so open older posts and in the blue sidebar beside the text area, under discussion, deselect “allow comments”. All new posts you make will have comments turned off by default from this time forward unless you override it while writing a post.

Thanks sacredpath for your suggestion.
I still need some help though….
With comments (via options) turned off (on my wordpress.com Black Letterhead theme) I still have text at the bottom of the page that reads “Leave a comment”. I want to take this text off the page. In other words I want to block the pre-designed built-in comment feature from showing at all in this theme.
Will CSS help me do this?
If not I don’t want to experiment and buy it unnecessarily.Any ideas from anyone out there?
All thanks again. -
If you don’t mind hiding also the link to edit the post you can modify the class=”postmetadata” and make the content invisible with something like {visibility:hidden} or {display:none;}
Before you actually decide to buy the upgrade, you can use the preview function to try out if it suits you.

Thanks so much isadora. I’ll let you know how your suggestion works soon.

Hi Isadora,
I’m also considering to remove the comments field altogether. As I’m new to this site, I’m not sure if I understand u correctly. How do I modify the class?
